Conspiracy

A conspiracy in the State of Nevada occurs when two or more people reach an agreement to commit a crime. A conspiracy charge is a separate offense. This means an individual can be charged with conspiracy for agreeing to commit a crime AND charged with committing the crime as well.

The key for the prosecution in establishing a conspiracy charge is a showing that two or more parties reached an understanding about committing a crime. It does not have to be an explicit agreement – just an understanding.

Defending a conspiracy charge can be complex for a number of reasons. First and foremost, it can give rise to issues related to how and when the conspiracy began.
